Three held with Brown Sugar Worth Rs 3 Lakh in Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda Police on Wednesday arrested and forwarded three youths of Mangal Bazaar for transporting 16.9gms of illegal contraband Brown Sugar worth Rs. 3 Lakhs.
Police identified the three youths as Jitesh Kumbhar alias Boma (24 years old), Irshad Khan (30 years old) both residents of Tatagali in Mangalbazaar and Md. Mumtaz (27 years old) of Mangalbazaar
Jharsuguda SDPO Nirmal Mohapatra said, “On Wednesday, during the checking of vehicles near Veer Surendra Sai Airport Chowk, Jharsuguda police stopped four youths travelling in their high end two KTM Bikes (OD 23 L 7211 and OD 15 F 4506). While one accused named Ayub Khan managed to flee from the spot, while police managed to nab three youths. While interrogation, it was learnt that, they were smuggling brown sugar in the locality and had concealed it inside the seat of the motorcycle for the purpose of selling in Jharsuguda. Police seized cash amounting to Rs. 13090, 16.940gms of Brown Sugar worth Rs.3 Lakhs, one mobile and two KTM bikes. All the three accused were forwarded to court.”
All the three accused are habitual offenders and have several cases pending at Jharsuguda Police Station.
