Youth held for stealing mobile phones
Jharsuguda : Rengali Police on Monday arrested a 20-year-old youth for allegedly stealing mobile phones from a mobile shop situated at Panchagoan under Rengali Police Station of Lakhanpur Block in Jharsuguda District
Police officials identified the accused as Sanjay Barik (20), a resident of Chikhilapali under Rengali Police station.
As per the report, one Thay Nath Meher, a mobile shop owner, of Panchgaon Bus Stand had a complaint regarding theft in his mobile shop on 22nd December and the unknow miscreant had stolen around 38 nos. of mobile phones along with cash by digging a hole behind the shop. After which the victim reported the matter at Rengali Police station.
After the investigation, Police arrested one Sanjay Barik of Village Chikhilapali. During the investigation, it was revealed that he had been planning to commit theft of mobile phones since the first week of December. As per plan he started digging a hole into a wall on 21st December and entered the shop and had taken away cash of Rs. 1880 and 36 Nos. of mobile phones and returned his house along with the stolen properties. On the next day, he went to the nearest jungle along with the stolen mobile and separated all the mobile covers and burnt the covers of mobile phone after which he concealed the mobiles phones and two hammers used in the crime under the heap of paddy straw. All the stolen 36 mobiles were recovered from him.
