46 Pilgrims from Jharsuguda Embark on Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme

Jharsuguda: Under the Odisha government’s Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme, a group of 46 pilgrims from Jharsuguda district has set off on a spiritual journey to Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Belur Math in Kolkata, and Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam. The pilgrims began their journey this morning towards Sambalpur, from where they will board a special train on Friday morning along with pilgrims from Angul, Balangir, Bargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, and Sundargarh districts to Kolkata.
Before the journey, a health check-up was conducted for all pilgrims at the local Sanskriti Bhavan to ensure their well-being. The pilgrimage commenced from the district office premises, where two buses carried the pilgrims to their next destination. Additional District Magistrate Brajabandhu Bhoi flagged off the journey and extended his best wishes to the travelers.
To ensure the smooth coordination of the trip, two escort officers have also accompanied the pilgrims. The initiative aims to provide senior citizens with an opportunity to visit sacred sites and fulfill their spiritual aspirations with proper safety and comfort.
