Jharsuguda : Amid Covid19 Pandemic , the Christmas Celebration in Jharsuguda will be a low key affair.
After Jharsuguda District administration has issued an order for not holding any gathering from 24th and 25th December for prayers at Churches on the eve of Christmas, St. Arnolds Catholic Church of Jharsuguda have schedule Online Prayer service through Online media platform to keep people connected with God during this Christmas eve.
“We have around 500 Catholic families in Jharsuguda town, I have already requested all the families to organize the Christmas Celebration at their own home by putting Stars, Making of Christmas Cribs and also singing Christmas Carol inside their homes, so they should feel that Christmas is nearby. Even I have asked them to join the Prayer Services thorough the online platform organized by us thorough our Communication Center, Vikas Sanchar and also participate thorough this service, as they were doing earlier in Churches.” said priest In-charge, Father Christopher of St. Arnolds Catholic Church, Cox Colony, Jharsuguda.
“We have already planned to Live Telecast our Prayers programme through Online medium. Post Lockdown we had utilize this online platform for the people who cannot come to the Church and attend the prayers. Through this online Platform, spiritual benefits are meted out by the people” said Father Christopher, Director of Communication Center Vikas Sanchar, Jharsuguda
“Earlier my sons who are residing out of country used to come and visit us during Christmas and would celebrate together this but due to Covid19 Pandemic and not flights they are not able to come down and even we don’t want them to travel in this pandemic. “Abiding the rules and norms of COVID19, we have confined our Christmas Celebration at our home even we are not organizing Christmas Carol this year,” said Amul Minz, a resident of Bijunagar
