Nine Battery Operated Vehicle and Compost production under Belpahar Municipality inaugurated by Brajrajnagar MLA Kishore Kumar Mohanty
Jharsuguda : Brajrajnagar MLA Kishore Kumar Mohanty inaugurated commencement of Compost production at Micro Composting Centre (MCC) at Belpahar. He also flagged off nine battery operated Vehicle meant for collecting waste from Door to door under Belpahar Municipality.
In this event, Jharsuguda District Collector Saroj Kumar Samal, Jharsuguda Sub Collector Shiba Toppo, TRL Kroasaki�s Tarapada Dash along with several others were present in this event.
The Micro Composting Centre and Material Recovery facility (MRF) has been already inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Odisha through Video Conferencing on August 31st.
Presently, around 10.1 Tonnes of Wet and Dry waste combined together is generated daily from the households present under Belpahar Municipality.
Micro Composting Centre (MCC) is a vital component of an Integrated Solid Waste Management strategy for Urban Local body.
The waste generated at household level is segregated into dry and wet waste. At the MCC, degradable and non-degradable items is segregated and the degradable items is shredded and composted to produce organic manure. Separately, a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) is also being set up which recovers and recycle materials from non-degradable items and ensuring zero discharge of organic waste to the landfill site.
The innovative model of the Micro Composting Centre (MCC), is a cost-effective, community-driven, proven technology, and user-friendly will help in overcoming this in an effective manner.
