Chhalaang Trailer Review: A Sports Drama of Pride and Honour featuring Rajkummar Rao, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Nushrat Bharucha
Ajay Devgn and Luv Ranjan’s collaboration, ‘Chhalaang’ trailer is dropped on Saturday. Rajkumar Rao and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s fight for pride and self-respect. The duo feature as PT teachers in the film that also stars Nushrat Bharucha, Ila Arun.
A Lazy PT master, Montu (Rajkummar Rao) for whom it’s just a job falls in love with a fellow teacher, Neelu (Nushrat Bharucha) at his school. However, his life takes a new turn after another PT teacher Mr Singh (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) who came in as a senior in the team. Ayyub proved to be more efficient in his personal and professional life, becoming the villain of Montu and Neelu’s love story.
The second half of the trailer shows that Ayyub teaches, Rao, how to teach the students. Montu, who loves his job but cannot sacrifice his pride, fought with Mr Singh. Illa Arun plays the principal of the school, and orders Rao to apologize to Ayyub or else lose his job. However, Rao stands his ground and says that his self-respect is way above the job. The two men are going to have a competition, and the person who wins gets to keep his job. He starts training and preparing his students for a tough competition – a competition of pride and self-respect.
Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film is a Luv Films production and is presented by Gulshan Kumar & Bhushan Kumar. Produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg.
Chhalaang will mark Rajkummar Rao’s sixth collaboration with Hansal Mehta. The duo has previously worked together in Shahid, CityLights, Aligarh, and Omerta. The film will stream on November 13 on Amazon Prime Video.
