Cinemas Halls Opening! Here’s a List of Bollywood Films Scheduled For Re-Release after October 15


The Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed the theatres to reopen the halls with 50 percent occupancy from October 15. 

Cinema halls have been shut down for six months due to COVID-19 outbreak. The owner of the halls was facing a significant loss, and majorly movies were started releasing on OTT platforms. There is a piece of good news for all cinema lovers that theatres are being allowed to run at 50 percent occupancy, the films finally will be available to watch on the big screen. 

Cinema hall owners in some states have geared up to provide cine-goers with a safe and secure environment, and cinema halls will comply with the set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. 

There are a few big Bollywood films that are scheduled to re-release this week. So, We have listed the movies which will have a theatrical release in the coming days.

PM Narendra Modi

Omung Kumar directorial PM Narendra Modi is a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It chronicles the life of PM Modi from his childhood till the time he became the prime minister of the country. In contrast, Vivek Anand Oberoi plays the titular role. The PM Narendra Modi movie first released on May 24, 2019.

Khaali Peeli

Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey starrer Khaali Peeli premiered on Zee Plex on October 2. But now the makers have decided to release the film in theatres. Directed by Maqbool Khan, the film revolves around Blackie (Khatter), a Mumbai taxi-driver, and Pooja (Panday), a girl on the run. Jaideep Ahlawat is seen as a goon in the movie. 

‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’

The Om Raut directorial revolves around the military leader of the Maratha empire, Tanhaji Malusare, played by Ajay Devgn, who led the battle against the Mughal commander Uday Bhan. The film received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike. It would be interesting to see how the film fares this week after it is re-released.

Kedarnath

The Sushant and Sara Ali Khan starrer are all set to return to theatres. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film is set against the backdrop of devastating Uttarakhand floods of 2013, which wreaked havoc in northern India, leaving thousands dead and stranded. The love story of a Hindu Brahmin girl (Sara) and a Muslim boy (Sushant). The film that was released in 2018 received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

Thappad

Anubhav Sinha directorial Thappad, starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in central roles released on February 28 this year, received a positive response from the audience and the critics alike. Based on a social drama that highlights the issue of domestic violence. Set in Delhi, it is the story of homemaker Amrita (Pannu) who is happy with her duties at home that includes attending to her husband Vikram’s (Gulati) smallest needs. But one day, Vikram slaps Amrita in front of his parents, neighbours and other guests at their home. The film revolves around the consequences of this one slap. 

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

After ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, the makers wowed the audience once again with the second instalment of the film, ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’. Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar feature in the lead roles of same-sex love story, directed by Hitesh Kewalya. The story of a gay man and his partner, who have trouble convincing the former’s parents of their relation.
