Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda Bharatiya Janata Party members sent a memorandum to the Jharsuguda Municipality demanding to stop illegal vending of raw meat immediately.
As per the memorandum it states that slaughtering of animals is a crime both socially and by law. It is also hampering all efforts of Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan. Without the permission of Jharsuguda Municipality, illegal meat is sold at various places throughout the district including main roads, near temples, schools and localities of Jharsuguda for the past several years. Due to which the environment is getting affected very badly. People are walking through the bloods on the streets and nearby areas also smell bad.
In the memorandum it is claimed to stop these illegal meat selling immediately and permanently and to take action against the violators. It is also demanding to make the proper arrangements so that only eligible vendors will sell be selling meat legally under a closed compound designated by Jharsuguda Municipality.
It also says that, if any action will not be taken within 15 days by the Municipality, all members will be stage a protest in front of Jharsuguda Municipality office.
