Birth Anniversary of Freedom Fighter Ganesh Upadhyay celebrated by Shahid Ganesh Upadhyay Sruti Charan Samiti and the Youngsters Charitable Trust.
Jharsuguda : 211th Birth anniversary of freedom fighter Ganesh Upadhyay was observed at his birthplace Singhabagha village under Jamera panchayat, Jharsuguda.
The celebration was presided by the Director of Youngsters Charitable Trust (YSCT), Vivekananda Mishra and Jamera Sarpanch Rajkishore Buda who was the chief guest. YSCT Chairman Arabinda Barik and Counselor Rajesh Padhee expressed their thoughts and gratitude about the freedom fighter’s bravery and life. Vipul Upadhyay also spoke on behalf of the martyr’s family and Shahid Ganesh Upadhyay Sruti Charan Samiti.
Later, a plaque titled “Shahid Ganesh Upadhyay Marg” was unveiled at Beherapalli- Singhabaga Road which connects the martyr’s birth place.
On behalf of Organising Committee, Arvind Barik requested everyone saying, “There is still much work to be done in honour of the martyrs who were born and raised in Jharsuguda and fought for independence against the British, and for this, the heartily support of every class, political party, social organization and all the people of Jharsuguda have been given and will continue to be given”.
Subash Upadhyay, Prabhat Upadhyay, Bholanath Upadhyay, Benudhar Upadhyay, Chuda Upadhyay, Dibyalochan Upadhyay, Subham Upadhyay Vijay Sehgal, Basant Rohidas, Abhijit Barik Jai Gopal Panda, Abhijit Sahu among others were present in this programme.
In view of the worldwide epidemic, and its Impact, the function was organised by taking all the precautionary measures. However, according to the Shahid Ganesh Upadhyay Sruti Charan Samiti, a special function will be organized for everyone after the exemption from Corona.
