Members of Jharsuguda District Bar Association submits Memorandum, demanding the establishment of Coal bearing Act Tribunal at Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : Members of Jharsuguda District Bar Association, on Monday met Bargarh Member of Parliament Suresh Pujari and submitted a memorandum demanding the establishment of Coal bearing Act Tribunal at Jharsuguda.
As per the memorandum, members of Jharsuguda District Bar Association stated that, though Jharsuguda along with neighboring districts such as Sundergarh and Sambalpur areas have rich Coal Mines operating under Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, but the cases relating to these mines , which involves mostly the compensation for the displaced families and others are being tried at Coal bearing Tribunal functioning at Dhenkanal, which is around 300 Kilometers away from the districts.
Due to this, the litigants and the lawyers, have to travel such long distance to redress the grievance and disposal of cases. Additionally, huge numbers of cases of Jharsuguda and neighboring districts are lying pending before the coal bearing Tribunal, Dhenkanal.
Jharsuguda District Bar Association, Interim Committee, Chairman, Advocate Ram Mohan Rao said” Presently the District & Sessions Judge, Dhenkanal is assigned with Coal bearing cases and the litigants and the lawyers these districts return empty handed without any matter being taken up by the presiding officers as most of the time the District & Session Judge, Dhenkanal remains busy with sessions and other important cases.
We therefore demand before Ministry of Law and Justice and Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, New Delhi to take this matter with the government for the establishment of Coal bearing Tribunal at Jharsuguda to dispose of the Coal bearing cases swiftly.”
Senior Advocate Dinesh Jain, Advocate Tapas Ray Choudhury Advocate Sandeep Awasthy, Advocate Riyast Ali, Advocate Biswanath Nayak Advocate Satya Bohidar and Advocate Dinesh Sharma, Advocate Bulu Senapati, Advocate Kishore Patel, Advocate Deepak Patel Advocate Biju Sarangi and Advocate Bandana Mundra and others were also present.
