Jharsuguda : Two people drowned in IB River in Jharsuguda on Sunday morning. The two were identified as Sandip Mehta(40) and his nephew Ketan Mehta (12) both resident of Lamitabahal, Brajrajnagar
As per sources, On Sunday afternoon, the duo had gone to IB river to have a bath and during this, the 12 years Ketan had slipped inside the river to catch a ball which had fallen into the river while he was playing, after which his uncle Sandip had jumped to save him, but unfortunately, they both didn’t know to swim because of which they both got drowned in the river.
The nearby people immediately informed the Fire brigade and local police officials who later rushed the spot and started the search operation. After few hours of the search operation, fire brigade officials managed to fish out the dead body of Sandip only. The search operation was still on to rescues the dead body of the 12 year old Ketan.
