Three days State Level Under 11 Chess Championship inaugurated
Jharsuguda: A three days State Level Under 11 Chess Championship was inaugurated by Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari at Hotel Meghdoot in Jharsuguda on Saturday. This is organised by Jharsuguda District Chess Association in support with Lions Club of Jharsuguda.
Around 120 participants have registered in this championship who have come from across Odisha to take part in this chess championship. This is the first time such state-level tournament is being organised in Jharsuguda.
” It is a proud moment for us to host the first State Level Under 11 Chess Championship in Jharsuguda. Around 120 participants from across districts of Odisha have arrived to take part in the championship. All necessary arrangements for the participants have been taken care of.” Said Kishore Kumar Mohanty, President, Jharsuguda District Chess Association.
Apart from the Chief Guest, other dignitaries present were Jharsuguda District Collector� Saroj Kumar Samal, Prof. A.A. Khan, Ex- Dean, BIITM, Bhubaneswar, Smt. Padmini Singh, Secretary, Jharsuguda District Chess Association, Ln. Shailesh King Shubhnil, Region Chairperson, Lions Clubs of International, Ln Harish Chander Gupta, Zone President of Lions Clubs of International, and Abhishek Lath, Secretary of Lions Club of Jharsuguda
The Closing ceremony of this Championship will be held on 14th October in which Odisha State Health Minister, Naba Kishore Das will be the chief guest along with Debasis Samatray, Ex-MLA Cuttack Barabati.
