Jharsuguda: TRL Krosaki has received the coveted CII Environment, Health and Safety Award 2017. The Award was received by Dr Tarapada Dash, Vice President  (HR, Safety and Environment), TRL Krosaki from Mr T. V. Narendran, Managing Director, Tata Steel and Chairman of CII, Eastern Region. Mr Tapan Kumar Chand, Managing Director, NALCO and Mrs Nita Karmakar, Regional Director, CII Eastern Region were also present on the dais during a presentation of the award. The award was presented in a special award function on February 25, 2017, during the CII Odisha Annual Day Meet at Hotel Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar. Industry heads and senior Government Officials were present in the function.
As a responsible corporate citizen, TRL Krosaki has always shown its commitment to achieving excellence in Environment, Health and Safety. The company has adopted Safety Excellence Journey (SEJ) in 2012 for improving its Safety Standard. A number of initiatives like formation of Safety Councils, Participation of Workers’ representatives in Safety Council, development of Safety Standards, training and awareness programmes among workmen and contract labours, ensuring 100% annual health check-up, rewards and prizes, etc. are implemented by the management for improving safety and health in the company. The company has also taken up a number of initiatives for reducing its carbon foot-print, ensuring meeting the environment norm and striving to improve the environment figures better than legal norms, ensuring more than 33% of its land under green cover, etc. for a preservation of the environment.
It is worthy to mention that, the company have just recently won Greentech Silver award for Environment Management for 2017 and Safety Innovation Award from Institution of Engineers (India) for 2016.
