JHARSUGUDA: Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda has been awarded the prestigious �Excellent Energy Efficient Unit� award in the 17th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2016� on 22-24 August 2016 held at Hyderabad by CII.
The Captive Power Plant (CPP-1215 MW) unit of Vedanta Ltd, Jharsuguda led by Mr. Jayakrushna Mohanty, Head CPP, �have been bestowed with the coveted �Excellent Energy Efficient Unit� award. �On behalf of Vedanta Mr.Ajay Pandey, Mr.Sameer Khandwe & Mrs.Monalisha Dash from CPP received the prestigious award from Ms. Shobana Kamineni (President Designate, CII & Executive Vice-Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited (AHEL).
The National Award for Excellence in Energy Management was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Hyderabad. The Awards have been instituted to recognize and honor �Excellence� in Energy Management amongst industries and office building sectors as well as to create an opportunity to share Best Practices and technologies adopted. A panel of judges evaluated companies on the basis of their last three years� of consistent performance and the presentations made on the implementation of Energy Conservation and Management measures.
More than 300 companies from various sectors including Refinery, Power, Metal, Paper, Automobile, Cement, and Commercial building category applied for this competition. 141 companies were shortlisted for making their final presentations at the HICC centre in Hyderabad out of which 70 (06 out of 11 for power sector) got Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award.
This award not only added one more feather in its cap but also reaffirms Vedanta�s commitment towards adhering to greener business practices which are not merely energy efficient but further downscale the adverse effects of their operations on the environment and its constituent Natural Resources.
