Jharsuguda: Brajrajnagar BJP MLA Smt. Radha Rani Panda on Monday sat on hunger strike demanding to declare entire Jharsuguda district as a complete drought affected district.
Smt. Panda, along with several of her supporters began the hunger strike at Jharsuguda Collectorate and accused the state government for its unjustified move, “First it has declared Jharsuguda as drought affected district due to the death of two farmers in the district. But later on it was dropped. I demand that Jharsuguda district should be declared as drought affected, till it is not declared I will continue my hunger strike.”
“If the reports were given to Government, then Government had declared 21 district as drought affected in which Jharsuguda was included but why afterwards Jharsuguda was dropped” She questioned
There is a political reason as in Jharsuguda there is no MLA of the ruling party so, the people of the Jharsuguda district has been neglected. She added.
