“The main agenda for coming Jharsuguda is to build this airport and establish the air connectivity here as soon as possible. The First Phase of the work has been started today, by the boundary work. Secondly, for expansion of airstrip, tender will be floated by May. Tender process of construction of the terminal building will be done soon.” He said
To bring the commercial viability for this airport, AAI is focusing to develop commercial activity at City side area near the airport which would generate revenue to meet the Operational Cost of this airport.
“For which we have spoken to the Jharsuguda Collector to meet with the Industrial houses present in the area for their requirement like Development of High end Hotels or Golf Course or any retail facilities etc first we would assess the requirement and then we would construct.” Srivastav said
Jharsuguda which is being surrounded by Industries is located very far from Bhubaneswar as well as Ranchi and there is no air connectivity nearby and in present fast economy it’s necessary to give Air connectivity for the outside Investors. Air connectivity is always a Supply driven, first airport would be build then only airlines would come. So our first priority is to build the airport.” Said R.K. Srivastav
