Jharsuguda Airport Police arrests Four in Robbery Case held at Sailetikra

Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda Airport Police on Wednesday arrested four alleged criminals in an armed robbery case reported from Saletikra near Biju Expressway in Jharsuguda under the Jharsuguda Airport Police station limits.

Police identified the accused as Manoj Barik (27), a resident of Bandhbahal, Sunil Yadav alias Nanu (23), Suraj Pancham (19) and Shibam Paswan (20), all three residents of Rampur Brajrajnagar were nabbed on Wednesday following swift action by a special team of Airport police station under the direction of Jharsuguda SP G. Raghavendra Reddy.

According to police, as per the complainant filed one Ramu Kisan (35), a night watchman at the under-construction Tata showroom, was on duty late on August 25 when three unidentified men attacked him around 1 am. The assailants allegedly slapped and terrorised him at gunpoint and with a Bhujali before snatching away his Redmi mobile phone and Hero HF Deluxe motorcycle (OD 23 Q 1226).

Acting on the complaint lodged on August 26, police tracked down the accused within 24 hours and recovered the stolen items, including a Mobile phone and motorcycles, and seized a motorcycle, a pistol and a Bhujali from the. During the investigation, it emerged that the prime accused, Manoj Barik, is a habitual offender, involved in as many as 14 criminal cases, including a murder registered at Banharpali police station.
