Jharsuguda:�A truck driver about 42 years of age died after a dumper hit him while he was crossing the road at SH � 10 near Kishan Chowk in Beheramal on Tuesday morning. The victim was identified as Gopal Kishan, resident of Charmal Village under Sambalpur District.
According to the sources, Gopal had parked his truck (OR 15-B 4929) at nearby Petrol Pump and was crossing the road (SH-10) to purchase some items, when a Dumper (OR � 16D 0945) coming from the other side hit him. He died on the Spot. Following after the incident, the locals had blocked the SH-10 for nearly two hours in the protest.
After the intervention of Jharsuguda Tehsildar and Jharsuguda Town Police Station IIC Nirmal Mohapatra who reached the spot and had control the situation after which the blockage was removed.
�The victim will be given a Rs. 10,000 from the Red Cross Society while Rs. 3000 from the Harish Chandra Scheme� said by Jharsuguda Tehsildar Bhavesh Nayak.
