Urban Local Body Poll held peacefully

 In this election many women, senior citizen and new voters had came out to cast their votes in good numbers.

  “I feel very happy that this time even I got a chance to select my choice of candidate who will be good for our ward It very something special felling for me.” says Vishal Modi resident of ward no. 19.

 The BJD has fielded 47 Candidates where as Congress party has fielded 44 candidates along with BJP who has fielded 45 candidates and with 11 CPI candidates together in both the municipalities.

 Counting of votes for these Municipalities is scheduled on Saturday. A total of 194 candidates are in the fray from both the municipalities. (Brajrajnagar – 113 candidate and Jharsuguda – 81 Candidate)

Of the total 65,833 voters in Jharsuguda, 42,581 which includes 22,532 Male and 20,049 Female voters who voted through 72 booths for 24 Wards of Jharsuguda Municipality.

Highest polling was observed in booth No. 11 of Ward No. 4 i.e. 90.97 percent, while the lowest polling was observed in booth No. 10 of Ward no. 4 i.e. 36.91 percent in Jharsuguda

 The outcome of the urban local bodies’ election holds significance for all political parties to show their strength ahead of assembly polls in 2014.
