Jharsuguda : A foundation stone for state-of-the-Art stadium at Malimunda in Jharsuguda was laid by the MCL Chairman-cum-managing Director A.N. Sahay along with Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das and Brajrajnagar MLA Anup Sai on Wednesday. These projects would be developed under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the company. In This function, Director Personnel P.C. Panigrahi, Director Technical A.K. Tiwari were also present.
As per the press release of MCL, The Stadium would be built with an estimated cost of Rs.1476.38 lakhs, in which football and cricket fields and tracks for the sports events would be developed at a cost of Rs. 400 lakh, player’s facilities at the cost of Rs 300 lakh. Around 176.38 will be spent of the boundary wall while Rs. 75 Lakhs for the construction of Administrative Office of the Stadium. Construction of Roofed Viewing gallery for a capacity of thousand viewers at the cost of Rs. 375 Lakh and stepped natural ground all around for use of gallery for 1000 persons at the cost of Rs. 100 Lakh will also be constructed. And around Rs. 25 lakh each would be spent on bore well and rain harvesting as well as entrance and internal gates.
Along with this, CMD MCL had also laid a Foundation stone of Rs. 888 Lakh piped water supply project for Brajrajnagar Town in Brajrajnagar.
Apart from the stadium, MCL is also contributing Rs. 5.5Cr. towards the construction of Ultra Modern Model Bus Stand at Malimunda whose stone was also laid on Wednesday.
MCL CMD A.N. Sahay said that, “We have already sanctioned the funds for the development of the stadium and the sports complex. The Land required for the project i.e. 30 acres has already been handed over. Apart from this we have also sanctioned funds for the various development woks like Road, Sewage, Community Hall and Bus Stand. There is no issue of funds at all, if required we would increase the funds too for the projects.”
Jharsuguda Congress MLA Naba Kishore Das said that, “In the first year around 16 Cr. would be spend for construction of Stadium, Rs. 6.90 Lakh for construction of Community Hall and Rs. 12.51 Lakh for Bus Stand , I want to thank MCL Officials , Dist. Administration for the success of these projects and credits should go to all. Additionally, a Medical College, an Eye Hospital and Heart Centre these three are my main aim for Jharsuguda public.”
