Jharsuguda Celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp and show

Jharsuguda : Ganesh Puja is being celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour across nation. Lord Ganesh, the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune is being worshipped by the students.The festival is typically held on the 4th day of the waxing moon fortnight (Sukla pakshya) in the month of Bhadraba.

Ganesha Chaturthi�also known as�Vinayaka Chaturthi,it is�celebrated on the occasion of birthday (re-birth) of Lord Ganesha, the son of�Shiva�and�Parvati, who is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. Ganesha is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travel.

Jharsuguda District has also gripped into the fever of this festival. The Jharsuguda Town is being decorated with various flowers and lightings along with different styles of pendals which is being admired by the visitors.

Even the Ganesh idols have been decorated marvellously with ornaments and these 10 days would be celebrated with great pomp and show.

People have already started pouring in numbers to visit each and every pendal of Jharsuguda and see different moods of Ganesha.

Among many of them one of the Pendal at Marwaripara is being admired very much due to its decoration. As usual the devotees had lined themselves in long queue waiting for their turn to see Lord Ganesha.

Police administration have also tightened it security deploying several home guards and night patrolling and diverting heavy vehicles and cars through Mangal bazaar to Station road leaving Jhanda Chowk to HDFC Bank Chowk a Free zone for the public to visit and worship these 10 days.
