Setting Example : ASI of a Sahaspur Police outpost helped injured elderly man
Jharsuguda: An Assistant Sub Inspector of a Sahaspur Police Outpost in Laikera Block of Jharsuguda district on Wednesday set an example by helping an elderly man, who was lying injured unattended for hours near a tree.
The Assistant Sub Inspector, Nityananda Sahu helped the 75-year-old elderly man, Maliya Sahu, a resident of Sarangloi village near Sahaspur, who had gone to pluck mangos from a nearby mango orchard and while returning had accidentally fallen and was lying injured near a tree unattended, after been spotted by the few villagers, who later informed the ASI who immediately came to the spot and with the help of the villagers, he took the injured elderly man on his police van and immediately shifted to the nearest hospital and where the elderly man received the first aid.
“I was on my way to Laikera Police station for some personal work, on the way I came to know that one elderly person has been lying injured, with the help of few villagers nearby we rescued the elderly person and took him to Mundrajore CHC where he was provided first aid treatment and later informed the family members of the elderly person and also shifted him back to his home safely. As a police officer, it’s our duty and the same I have done.” Said ASI Nitayanada Sahu
This act of humanity of this policeman was widely appreciated by the local citizens, during the pandemic.
