Five arrested in Brajrajnagar Couple Burn Case

Jharsuguda : Brajrajnagar Police has arrested five people including three ladies on Saturday for their alleged involvement in��murdering and burning their uncle and aunt over parental property dispute in Rampur , Brajrajnagar.�

Police identified the accused as Dipak Das Panka (24), Rahul Das Panka (22), Miran Das (F) (28), Sunita Das (F) (24) Supriya Das Panka (F) (25) all are the Children of Manharan Das, the elder brother of the deceased.�

The deceased was identified as Gita Das Panka (42) while her husband Giriwar Das Panka (48), both residing at their house in Rampur, Brajrajnagar.

On Friday Morning, in between 8.15 to 8.30 am, the couple Gita Das and his husband Girwar Das were found lying dead in their home half burnt. When the deceased couple�s son Priyanshu Das had returned back from tuition and found that his mother was burning, he rushed and informed the neighbors and relatives who later reached the spot and informed the Brajrajnagar police.

Later Brajrajnagar police reached the spot and started its investigation. Even the Forensic Team was called in for the investigation purpose.

As per Police information, the deceased father Late Fandu Das used to work in MCL and residing in Rampur Colliery with his family members. He had four sons namely Manharan Das Panka ,Dilharan Das Panka, Giriwar Das Panka and Ganesh Das Panka. While the three sons Manharan, Dilharan and Girwar Das lived with Father at Rampur in Brajrajnagar but Ganesh the youngest brother lived with his mother at their Native Place in Chhattishgarh.

The elder brother Manharan Das, got married and have five daughters namely Kiran (30), Miran (28), Supriya (26), Sunita (25) Muskan and two sons namely Deepak (24) and Rahul (22). 

While Dilharan Das Panka did not have any child and Girwar Das Panka was blessed with two Children one Daughter and one Son. 

Dilharan Das Panka and Girwar Das used to jointly run a Pan shop in Rampur While Manharan Das the elder brother had got separated from them and lived at a different place in Rampur.

When the father of the deceased Late Fandu Das retired from service 8 years ago. Since then a dispute was raised between Manharan and Giriwar regarding taking the retirement benefit of their father.��Manharan had visited Giriwar several times to Giriwar to settle the dispute but there was no conclusion. Even when Manharan’s wife was ill and he needed some financial help, he again visited Giriwar but Giriwar denied to help them. In this,�Giriwar�s Wife had supported Giriwar.��Due to this reason, the children of Manharan decided to eliminate both Giriwar and his wife Gita. They first hit them with Iron Pipes and an axe and in order to hide the evidence, they burnt them both with Kerosene Oil.�

Jharsuguda SP Rahul PR said, �During investigation, it was revealed that it was planned murder, the children of the elder brother of the deceased were involved. They basically had a dispute over a parental property issue. They had kept a grudge against the deceased for grabbing all the property. Iron rod and weapons used in the crime have been seized and all accused has been forwarded to court.�
