Leaders Pay Tribute to Naba Kishore Das on Third Death Anniversary

Jharsuguda: Prominent leaders cutting across party lines paid rich tributes to former Odisha Health Minister and Jharsuguda MLA Late Naba Kishore Das on his third death anniversary at a memorial meeting held at the Naba Das Auditorium on Thursday.

The commemorative event, organised by the Naba Das Foundation along with family members, witnessed the presence of political leaders, social organisations and admirers who remembered Naba Das not merely as a politician, but as a symbol of trust, accessibility and development-oriented leadership. Floral tributes were offered as speakers recalled his significant contributions to public life and regional development.

As part of the remembrance programme, over 2,500 motorcyclists participated in a rally from Sarbahal, carrying placards and raising slogans of “Naba Dada Amar Rahe.” The procession passed through Manmohan School, Jhanda Chowk, Gandhi Chowk and Beheramal, before culminating at Naba Das Square and concluding at the auditorium.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari described Naba Das as a determined and dynamic leader whose commitment to development went beyond party boundaries. He highlighted Das’s ability to maintain cordial relations across political lines and his dedication to people’s welfare as the core of his enduring legacy.

Senior BJD leader and former minister Sanjay Das Burma expressed condolences, calling Naba Das one of Odisha’s most popular political figures. He noted that Das’s strong grassroots connect in Jharsuguda was evident during every visit to the district.

BJD youth leader Ipsita Sahu read out a condolence message from former Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, highlighting the affection and respect Naba Das commanded among the people.

Among others present were Rourkela MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak, former Brajarajnagar MLA Radharani Panda, Jharsuguda Municipal Chairperson Rani Hati, Brajarajnagar Chairman Gopal Sitani, along with leaders from BJD, BJP and corporate representatives.

Winners of various competitions organised over the past ten days in memory of Naba Das were felicitated during the programme.
