Naba Das Murder Case: Crime Branch Records Statement of Minati Das on Second Day of Investigation.
Jharsuguda: The two-member team of the Odisha Crime Branch continued its investigation into the murder of former Health Minister and BJD leader Naba Kishore Das, visiting his residence at Sarbahal, Jharsuguda, for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. The team recorded the statement of Minati Das, wife of the late leader, as part of the probe.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Crime Branch officials had recorded the statements of Bishal Das and his sister Dipali Das, the son and daughter of Naba Kishore Das. Sources indicate that the team had also visited Veer Surendra Sai Airport and Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital to gather details and statements relevant to the case.
Speaking to the media, Odisha Crime Branch ASP Vijay Mallick stated, “Today, we recorded the statement of Minati Das, and we will verify the details she provided. The investigation has not been reopened, but the Investigating Officer has been changed. We also visited Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital to understand the medical treatment provided to Naba Kishore Das and recorded the statements of concerned personnel. Additionally, we collected details from Veer Surendra Sai Airport regarding the arrival and departure timings of the aircraft involved.”
Following the Crime Branch’s visit, Dipali Das, Bishal Das, and their mother Minati Das departed for Bhubaneswar on a chartered flight to meet the Odisha Chief Minister. Sources suggest that during the meeting, Bishal and Dipali Das may submit a letter demanding a CBI inquiry into their father’s murder case.
