Over a thousand Students participated in Jharsuguda Art Competition 2025
Jharsuguda: Over a thousand students from nearly 100 schools across Jharsuguda District took part in Jharsuguda Art Competition 2025, organized by the Central GST and Central Excise Department, Jharsuguda on the occasion of 76th Republic Day at Government High School Ground, Sarbahal, Jharsuguda on 26th January.
The event, which was held under the banner of Swachhta Pakhwada 2025, aimed to promote cleanliness and hygiene awareness as part of the Ministry of Finance’s nationwide initiative.
The program commenced with a Swachhta Pledge, where students and their guardians vowed to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. The teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, a pioneer of cleanliness and self-reliance, were highlighted to inspire the participants.
Kunal Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Central GST and Central Excise, Jharsuguda Division, inaugurated the event with an inspiring address. Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, he encouraged students to act as Swachhta Ambassadors, spreading the message of hygiene and sanitation in their communities.
The competition witnessed a vibrant turnout, with young artists showcasing their creativity through colourful drawings, reflecting their commitment to the cause.
A distinguished panel of judges, including Bhagabat Chandra Patnaik, Manoj Kumar Mahapatra, Linkan Naik, and Smt. Tanmayee Ping, Principal of Government High School, Sarbahal, shared their insights on the role of art in promoting social awareness. Mahananda Seth, Sanitation Instructor, Jharsuguda Municipality, also addressed the gathering, providing practical tips for maintaining cleanliness in daily life.
