Lakhanpur Police arrests six member of inter district gang involved in thefts and recovers stolen good
Jharsuguda : In a significant breakthrough, Lakhanpur Police on Wednesday arrested six members of an inter-district gang involved in thefts and recovered stolen goods worth ₹7 lakhs
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bipin Khadia (23), Dinesh Khadia alias Shiba (19), Ashok Khadia alias Kalia (18) from Tileimal, Brajrajnagar, and Bablu Khadia (19), Mahesh Toppo (18), and Binod Kullu alias Dhodo (32) from Karuabahal village under Kinjirkela police station in Sundargarh district
According to police officials, the investigation was initiated after a complaint was lodged by Minaketan Pradhan of TPWODL Belpahar Section. On the wee hours of 2nd October 2024, unknown individuals stole aluminium conductor wires spanning approximately 7,500 meters (valued at ₹7,00,000) from the area between Bikramkhol Chowk and Tentuliabahal village.
Under the leadership of SDPO Brajrajnagar and IIC Lakhanpur, a team successfully nabbed the group of six who had been involved in multiple thefts of electrical poles and aluminium conductors across Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, and Sambalpur districts. The accused are linked to several pending theft cases in various police stations.
The police seized a Hero Destini scooty (Regd. No. OD23H-9458), a pickup vehicle (Regd. No. OD23C-8952), three hacksaw blades with one hacksaw frame, a Taparia cable cutter, a gas cylinder with a hose pipe and cutting tools, a pair of rubber gloves, six mobile phones, and 7.5 quintals of the stolen aluminium conductor.
