NLC Distributes self-resettlement Amount to the beneficiaries
Jharsuguda : NLC India Limited a Navratna company is setting up a 2400 MW (3x800MW) Talabira Thermal Power Project at Jharsuguda. In which IPICOL, Government of Odisha has recommended the acquisition of 1694.5 acres of land in 5 villages: Tareikela, Kumbhari, Hirma, Tumbekela, and Luhurenkachar in Jharsuguda district, and 1 village in Thelkoloi in Sambalpur district for the establishment of NLC Talabira thermal power project. The land acquisition process is an advanced stage and physical possession shall be taken over land after relocating villagers to the newly constructed houses in R&R colony in Hirma.
According to the Social Impact Assessment (SIA), the total PDFs in 5 villages is 762. Currently, 97 PDFs have been relocated from Hirma village to the R&R colony.
In lieu of R&R Colony House, an amount of Rs. 20,85,683/- for the self-resettlement scheme is introduced and as of now 35 PDFs have opted for self-relocation and payment made by District Administration to 25 Nos of PDFs.
In order to felicitate the 25 PDFs, a function was organised by NLCIL on 23rd July 2024 at R&R Colony in the gracious presence of Collector Jharsuguda by distributing certificates and gifts.
