No Flight Service for Delhi Sector in Summer Schedule from VSS airport
Jharsuguda : In a major setback for the air travellers of western Odisha travelling to the Delhi Sector through Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, as there will no flight services for the Delhi Sector as per the Summer Schedule published and which will be effective from 31st March 2024.
As per the information, Spicejet Airlines which was running its flight service for the Delhi Sector from Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSS), Jharsuguda will withdraw its all operations from 1stApril, due to some reasons, which has been confirmed by the Jharsuguda Airport Director Sandeep Kumar Tiwari.
Apart from Spicejet Airlines, presently two airline service providers will operate i.e. Alliance Air and Indigo Airlines.
However, Indigo Airlines was expected to start its flight operation for the Delhi sector, but, as per the summer schedule published doesnt have any flights for the Delhi Sector, due to the non-availability of a Slot at Delhi Airport.
As per the new Summer Schedule effective from 31st March, Indigo will run its flights for Kolkata and Bengaluru while Alliance Air will run its flights for Jharsuguda Bhubaneswar Kolkata.
As it was one of the busiest sectors and used to get a full load of passengers both travelling to and from Delhi considered to be the most demanded sector. However, the non-availability of flight services will directly impact the passengers willing to travel to Delhi.
We have tried reaching the Jharsuguda airport director Sandip Kumar Tiwari on this, but we haven’t got any information from him.
