AAHAAR Centers near the hospital premises will be open on Sundays
Jharduguda:The Housing and Urban Development Department has announced that all AAHAAR Centers located in or near state hospitals will now be open on Sundays. This decision was made after the Health and Family Welfare Department drew attention to the fact that many people were facing difficulties as the centers were closed on Sundays.
According to the official website of AAHAAR, there are three AAHAAR Centers in Jharsuguda. One center is located near Jharsuguda Hospital and benefits 500 people regularly. The other two centers are located in Belpahar and Brajarajnagar, and benefit 300 and 500 people regularly, respectively.
There are a total of 167 AAHAAR Centers in the state, of which 82 are located in hospital premises. Out of these 82 centers, 58 have facilities for serving food at night. These centers provide food and other essential items to family members or attendants of patients who visit these clinics. An average of 48,000 people benefit daily from these 82 centers.
The Housing and Urban Development Department has informed all Municipality Corporation Commissioners, City AAHAAR Committee Presidents, District Collectors, and District AAHAAR Committee Presidents to take appropriate measures to ensure that the centers are open on Sundays.
This decision is a welcome step that will benefit many people who rely on these centers for food and other essential items. It is also a step in the right direction towards providing better services to patients and their families.
