Jharsuguda Police busted Mobile Theft Gang, 3 arrested
Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda Police on Sunday busted a mobile theft gang and arrested three people including two receivers of Stolen Goods.
The police identified the main accused as Ganesh Mourya (43), a resident of Urgaon , District Korba in Chhattisgarh, and two receivers of stolen goods Vinod Kumar Jangda (32) and Praveen Jadab (36), a residents of Manikpur , Korba (Chhattisgarh) .
According to the police sources, based on the complaint of one Trushit Kumar of Purnabasti, regarding the theft of 2 mobiles and laptop from his residence by breaking the main entrance gate on 14th�June. However similar incidents were also reported from sarbahal, bijunagar, cox colony, beheramal area. During investigation of the cases and CCTV footage were analysed in all the cases. Police zeroed on the involvement of one single person wearing half pant as the main culprit. The CCTV footage was circulated to all bordering police stations of Jharsuguda as well as other districts.
A special team was constituted by SP, Jharsuguda to round up the culprit. Ultimately the main accused Ganesh Mourya of Korba of Chhattishgarh was apprehended near Jharsuguda Railway station. On interrogation he confessed that he is residing in Orga Village in Korba and usually comes to Jharsuguda for committing theft by Train from Korba and after committing the crime he again�returns to Korba by Train. He disclosed that he had sold the stolen goods at Korba and with the help of local police, local receivers were apprehended and the stolen properties were recovered. They usually dismantle the mobile phones and laptops and reassemble the spare parts to escape from the police.
Jharsuguda SDPO Nirmal Mohapatra Said, �Police seized 17 nos . of Mobile phones, Dismantled parts of 40 Mobiles phones and Cash of Rs. 29,000, House breaking instruments, Torchlight, 500 gms Silver ornaments , 20 gms of Gold Ornaments.�
