Dipali Das Gets Jharsuguda Bypoll BJD Ticket From CM Naveen Panaik
Jharsuguda: Dipali Das, the daughter of the slain Health Minister Naba Das, and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate for the upcoming bypoll to the Jharsuguda assembly constituency, collected her party ticket with his younger brother Bisal Das from BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence, Naveen Niwas, on April 14.
Expressing confidence and gratitude, Dipali Das stated that she would make Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik proud with her campaign. She also praised the Chief Minister’s contribution to women’s empowerment.
Dipali Das, a first-time politician, took a swipe at her opponents, stating that those who claim there has been no development in Odisha are “blind.” She highlighted the achievements of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, including the creation of the Jharsuguda district, the establishment of an airport in Jharsuguda, and ongoing efforts to provide drinking water to all households by the end of 2023.
Following the murder of former Health Minister Naba Das by ASI Gopal Krishna Das on January 29, the Jharsuguda assembly seat became vacant, necessitating the by-poll. The Jharsuguda byelection is scheduled for May 10, with vote counting set for May 13.
