BJD Candidate Dipali Das to File Nomination for Jharsuguda By-poll on April 18th
Jharsuguda: The upcoming general election in Jharsuguda has taken an interesting turn as the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate, Dipali Das, is set to file her nomination on the 18th of April, which is scheduled to be held on May 10.This was confirmed by Debi prasad Mishra, the election observer for BJD. Meanwhile, the Congress candidate, Tarun Pandey, will be filing his nomination on the 15th, as announced by Congress MLA Suresh Chandra Routray.
While BJD and Congress have already announced their candidates for the Jharsuguda by-election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is yet to reveal the name of its candidate. Speculations are rife about potential candidates, with names like Tankadhar Tripathy, Dinesh Jain, and Trinath Gayal being considered. Tankadhar Tripathy seems to be the frontrunner as of now, but the party is still finalising its decision, taking into account various factors and equations.
BJP state president Manmohan Samal, however, has reassured that there is no confusion within the party. He mentioned that the party’s Parliamentary Board and Election Committee have already held meetings to discuss the upcoming elections in Karnataka and other states, including the Jharsuguda bypoll. The candidate’s name will be announced soon, according to Samal.
With the stage set for a fierce electoral battle in Jharsuguda, all eyes are now on the official candidate announcements from BJP, as the political landscape in the region continues to evolve.
