ESIC approves for the Creation of a Sub regional office of ESIC at Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has approved to set up a Sub Regional Office of ESIC at Jharsuguda for the benefits of employers as well as the employees who are working in Western Odisha.
This has been notified through a press release after the 186th Meeting of the Employees’ State insurance Corporation held on 4th December under the Chairmanship of Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
As per the report, In Odisha, there is a Regional Office of ESIC located at Bhubaneswar, which was not at all accessible for the employers and beneficiaries hailing from Western Odisha.
In this context, in the month of September, Odisha BJP state secretary Tankadhar Tripathy had written a letter of Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan requesting to set up a Sub Regional office at Jharsuguda, subsequently, Pradhan had written a letter to the Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav in the month of September.
Pradhan in his letter had written that, among the 30 districts of Odisha, 17 districts are nearer and easily accessible to ESIC Regional Office at Bhubaneswar while 13 districts are comparatively nearer to the proposed Subregional Office at Jharsuguda. Jharsuguda is been considered as most developed and urbanized with the presence of a large number of small- and large-scale industries.
Moreover, In Odisha, there is no SRO at present and ESIC ROG Bhubaneswar is receiving many complaints and grievances from the western part of the Odisha who are facing difficulty in taking up the issues physically at ESIC RO, Bhubaneswar due to long distance.
