Jharsuguda Hotel and Restaurant Association appeals state govt to allow them to open their Restaurant, Bars
Jharsuguda : Members of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Jharsuguda, on Sunday appealed state govt to allow them to open their Restaurant, Bars, Banquet, Conference for guest.
As Jharsuguda District is one among the Ten District which falls under Category – A of the Covid Management rule of the State Government where the impact of Corona Virus is at a minimal stage. As under this Category A, all shops are allowed to open from 6AM to 8 PM and almost all small or Industrial activities are allowed, even buses, trains, and flight services have been resumed.
As per the association, the hospitality trade has been suffered a lot due to Covid-19 Pandemic (since last 15months and still the sector has not been allowed to operate their restaurant for outside Guest. Even the license to operate bar has been charged without business but still this sector has not been allowed. As the business owner of this sector, we demand state government to kindly allow to open for the Outside Guest.
They have also demanded exemption of all taxes/levies imposed during the lockdown for the 2021-2022 and a further more for a grace period of 2022-23.
Speaking to Press the president of the association Asish Palit said,” Since last 15 months, Hospitality sector has incurred a huge loss due to COVID pandemic. Most of cities like Sambalpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda in western Odisha falls under Category A, where government has allowed business like Gym, Salons, Spas, etc but till now govt. has not allowed us to open our Restaurant and Bars. As a hospitality sector we have been paying for the maintenances, staff salary , AMC for Lift, Air conditioned. Among us many are budgeted hotels who are facing the burnt. So, We would request the state govt. to kindly allow us to operate our Restaurant and Bars .”
