Jharsuguda shivers at 5.8 degree Celsius, Season Lowest
Jharsuguda : The industrial town recorded the lowest temperature with the mercury reducing to 5.8 degree Celsius on Monday, the season lowest. Sudden fall in the temperature has sent bitter chilling experiences to the people.
According to local Metrological department, the Celsius would witness more dips in the days to come. Meanwhile, the town wore a virtually deserted look after 9 pm in the evening with most people preferring to stay indoors.
The poor people on the streets have been the worst hit by the cold wave. Footpath dwellers and poor were seen cluster around bonfires lit from dry woods, used tyres and even garbage to beat the cold.
With the town shivering under intense cold conditions, huge crowds have started thronging the woollens market to buy sweaters, jackets, shawls and coats.
