Fake currency racket busted, 3 held
Jharsuguda : Banharpalli Police on Saturday has arrested three people in connection with printing and circulating fake currency notes.
Police identified the accused as Md. Irfan (24), Md. Istifak Anshari (32), both resident of Sisil Farm pada, Bamra under Sambalpur District while one Md. Ajmal (20) resident of Khadam Chowk, Banharpali.
As per reports, On 27th November, one Md. Ajmal of Khadam Chowk, Bandhabahal was caught red handed at M/s Medapat Filling Station (Petrol Pump) by the owner Gajraj Singh and his staffs while using two, 100 rupees counterfeit notes at the petrol pump. On interrogation he disclosed the name of the other two accused persons namely Md. Istifaq Ansari and Md. Irfan of Sisil Farm pada of Bamra under Sambalpur District. Following Jharsuguda Police apprehended them from the Bamra and recovered huge quantity of counterfeit notes.
Police has seized 918 notes Rs.100 denomination and 9 notes of Rs. 500 denomination along with one colour printer, 8 numbers of colour and black HP cartridges, printed counterfeit currency notes in paper, plain paper, blade cutter, Green Cello tape, three mobiles and one motorcycle vide (OD23G5421)
Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police Rahul PR said, �Yesterday, IIC Banharpalli, received information regarding a person using fake currency at a petrol pump. On interrogation, it was confirmed that it was a fake note. In this regard, a case was also registered. Subsequently, Friday night, in an operation, we have nabbed three people running a fake currency printing unit from Bamra under Sambalpur District and seized Rs. 96,300 of fake counterfeit notes along with a printer and other printing materials. All three accused will be forwarded to the court and further investigation is going on.�
