Two arrested for Drugs

Jharsuguda: Two persons were arrested with 500 pentazocine Lactate (a painkiller) injections and Tablets which were sold to addicts in Brajrajnagar, police said today.

Police identified the duo as Binod Sahu alias Bina (41), a resident of Mandalia, under Orient Police Station of Brajrajnagar and Vijaya Kumar Patra, (27), (Medicine Supplier) a resident of Rajgangpur, Dist. Sundargarh.

As per police officials, on 14th�October, during patrolling Sub Inspector S.K. Kishan along with staff got information regarding one Binod Sahu of Mandalia who is transporting and selling narcotic substance at Mandalia area and on this information they reached the spot and apprehended Binod Sahu. After a search, they found 500 Nos. of contraband Pentazocine Lactate kept in a plastic bag. During the investigation, it was revealed that Vijaya Kumar Patra of Liploi, of Rajgangpur of Sundergahr District, had supplied the above-noted contraband injection and Tablets, which was later seized from Vijaya Kumar Patra�s Medicine Shop.

As per Brajrajnagar SDPO Dilip Das, �As the accused has been forwarded to court we have seized 500 Nos. Contraband Pentazocine Lactate Injection, One Bike (OD-23C-4535(pulsar), one Mobile  from  Binod Sahu, while Supral -10 Contraband Tablet (28 Packets), Sopor -10 Contraband Tablet (16 Packets)  from the possession of Vijaya Kumar Patra, the owner of Patra Medical store.�

The accused were selling the contraband through some local peddler, which is under investigation in future such type of raids against the illegal drugs rackets will continue by Jharsuguda Police, he added.
