Jharsuguda police arrests the main accused involved in Murder of the 37-year-old woman of Sarasmal
Jharsuguda: In a major breakthrough, Jharsuguda Police on Wednesday nabbed the main accused involved in the murder of a 37-year-old woman from Sundargarh on Wednesday evening.
Police have identified the accused as Gopal Yadav(30), a native of Jharkhand. A 37-year-old married woman was shot dead at her house on the wee hours of Wednesday, at Rohidaspara, Sarasmal under Jharsuguda Police station limits.
Police have identified the deceased as Kanaka Rohidas (37) a resident of Rohidaspara, Sarasmal. She is survived with two children and her husband identified as Sananda Rohidas.
Soon after the incident, Jharsuguda police officials had rushed to the spot and started its investigation. Police have recovered a live bullet cartridge from the spot.
As per the deceased victim’s husband, Sananda Rohidas (47) said that “We, including my wife Kanaka Rohidas, were sleeping at night in my room along with my two children. At around 2:00 am, I woke up for bathroom when I saw that my wife was not present in my room, when I searched everywhere in house I couldn’t found her then I went out of the house and saw her body lying in the Verandah. I immediately called the police and informed about the incident. I didn�t hear any sound of bullet shots in the night and I don’t know what happened.”
Northern Range DIG Himanshu Lal said ” We had immediately formed a special team to nab the main accused involved in this murder case. As a team, we were able to crack this Murder Case within Six hours and nabbed the main accused involved in this crime. We have recovered two pistols along with eight live ammunition. The exact motive behind this murder case will be known after the investigation which is going on and our investigation is being conducted under the 5T model. However, the accused has confessed to having committed the crime .”
