Jharsuguda : Unknown Armed Miscreants on Friday evening looted a Jewellery shop near Gandhi Chowk and fled away with cash and jewellery worth 3 Lakhs.
As reported, In between 6 to 6.30 pm, two masked armed miscreants fired two rounds of the bullet at the Saraf Jewellery Shop near Gandhi Chowk to scare the owners of the Jewellery shop who were present inside their shop. After the miscreant fled away with the cash and gold and silver ornaments present in the shop.
” Around 6 O’clock I and my husband were present in our Jewellery shop, suddenly two armed miscreants barged into the shop and had shown us a machete and pushed my husband down and caught me and snatched my chain from my neck and demanded other jewellery and cash present in the shop. Then they fired two rounds inside the shop to scare us and after taking gold and silver ornaments and cash in a plastic bag they fled away from the spot. We cannot tell the exact amount, but approx Rs. 3-4 Lakhs worth gold & silver ornaments have been looted.” Said Prabhati Saraf, owner of the Saraf jewellery shop of Gandhi Chowk, Brajrajnagar
Jharsuguda SP Aswini Kumar Mohanty said, ” We got the information at around 7 O clock, that some unidentified armed miscreants had come to their Jewellery shop located near Gandhi Chowk. At the time of the incident, the shop owners both Husband and Wife were present inside. Around two blank fire was done by the miscreant to scare them and fled away with the gold and silver ornaments. Our teams have reached the spot and have started its investigation.”
