CM Naveen Patnaik Targets Central Government for neglecting Odisha
Jharsuguda : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday blasted the central government for neglecting Odisha’s interest.
He was addressing a public meeting on Thursday at Amlipali Ground where he was referring to the recent inauguration of Veer Surendra Sai Airport which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22nd 2018.
He said that,” Jharsuguda airport which was inaugurated recently with much fanfare, but till now no flights have taken off from this airport. Even after the support of state government, nothing happened till now.”
“The flights have not taken off yet but I have again requested the Central Government for introducing Shatabdi Express from Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar. Let see if it is fulfilled or not.” he added.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, unveiled projects worth Rs. 618.66 Lakhs . He inaugurated Six Lift Irrigation project in Jharsuguda & Lakhanpur Block worth Rs. 32 Lakhs along with 2x5MVA Grid Sub Station worth Rs. 13 Cr. He also laid foundation stones for Cancer Care Hospital worth Rs. 145 Cr., Mega Water Supply Project for four Block (Jharsuguda, Kirmira, Kolabira and Laikera) worth Rs. 388 Cr., Railway Overbridge at Chowkipada Rs. 35.62 Lakhs, Diagnostic Centre at Jharsuguda Rs. 20 Cr. and Minor Irrigation Project at Amati under Kolabira Block worth Rs. 18.22 Lakhs.
He also distributed seed money for Digital Empowerment 3489 Women Self Help worth Rs. 1 Cr., along with assistance to 1422 Construction worker , Distribution of Land Patta to 1002 landless families.
Later, the former Congress MLA from Jharsuguda, Naba Das joined BJD in presence of Naveen Patnaik and other senior leaders of BJD, who claimed that Das would strengthen BJD�s organisation in the region. After joining BJD, Naba Das stated that he joined BJD to usher in development in Jharsuguda.
�We want Jharsuguda to become the commercial capital of Odisha. Apart from this we want a hospital, medical college and a railway division and the CM should also write to Centre for an AIIMs in Jharsuguda,� said Das adding that he has written to Odisha Assembly Speaker expressing his intention to quit his post as a legislator.
Many BJD Leaders like Ex- MP, Rabi Narayan Pani, Bargarh MP Dr. Prabhas Kumar Singh, Sanjay Das Barma, Pranab Prakash Das, Debasis Samantray, Ramesh Patua(MLA, Rengali) Dr. Raseswari Panigrahi (MLA,Sambalpur), Mangala Kisan (MLA,Rajgangpur), Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Chairman Kishore Kumar Mohanty , Anup Sai and others were also present.
