PM to inaugurate Jharsuguda Airport on 22nd September:�Jual Oram

Jharsuguda: The much awaited Jharsuguda Airport will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on coming 22nd September, informed the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram on Friday

The confirmation announcement came after the inspection of the Jharsuguda airport was done by the minister on Friday morning.

While speaking to the Press, Jual Oram said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jharsuguda to inaugurate Second Airport of Odisha, along with the inauguration of Jharsuguda-Sardega (under Sundargarh District) Railway Line. He will also inaugurate the Talcher fertilizer plant during his visit. �In Jharsuguda, the Prime minister will also address a Public meeting. In this event, all the public representatives will be invited to the inauguration ceremony .”Jual Oram

Earlier, Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had granted 2B Category license for operating smaller aircraft of 18 seaters in the month of May. Subsequently, in the month of July, 4C Category License needed for handling bigger aircraft like A320 was given the Jharsuguda Airport.

Jharsuguda Airport has been developed over 909 acres with an estimate of Rs 175 crore. The project has been jointly developed by AAI and the state government.

Initially, Air Odisha will start its operation. They have contacted us and maybe they will start their operation by 22nd September.” said Sudesh Kumar Chouhan, Jharsuguda Airport Director

“We are very happy that very soon Jharsuguda airport will be operationalised. We are eagerly waiting for our Prime minister to visit our district for the first time. This airport will be a great gift for the people of Western Odisha. ” said Naresh Nayak, Jharsuguda Citizen
