Jharsuguda: Sachin Kumar Padhan, a Class-IX student of the Belpahar Refractories High School, Belpahar here, has done her alma mater proud.
According to the headmaster of school Ranjan Kumar Das, an All India Environment Awareness Competition (Written Quiz) was organised under the aegis of the Jim Corbett National Park during February 2016.ie (11.02.2016)
It dealt with environmental awareness, current environmental issues, and problem solving skills, knowledge and understanding.
Many schools in different parts of the country had participated in the competition which was held in three categories viz. Group A – Classes three to five, Group B – Classes six to eight and Group C – Classes nine to twelve.
Padhan had secured 83 percentages in the group C and was also declared as the First position in India.Even Sujata Pradhan, teacher of the same school got a Best organising Teacher Medal & Certificate.
