New Managing Director and Director (Operation) of OPGC assume office
Jharsuguda : Indranil Dutta has taken over office as the Managing Director of Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) Ltd.� on 1st April, 2015 replacing Sankaran Subramaniam who held the post for a little more than one year. Dutta before taking over as Managing Director had been holding office as the Director (Operation) of OPGC Ltd for nearly 4 years since April 2011.
Dutta has an illustrious career span of 26 years so far in which he served companies like Tata Steel, Balco Ltd. and AES India. Having graduated from IIT, Kharagpur as a mechanical engineer in the year 1989� he started his career as GET in Tata Steel. After a 15 year long stint at various positions inTata Steel, he joined Balco as GM (Operations) and with his exemplary technical and management skills� walked�� his way up to become the Head of Power Business in a very short time. Later, on 1st April, 2011 he joined AES (India) and was nominated to hold the office of Director (Operation) at OPGC Ltd.
Sukanta Mohapatra has taken over the office of Director (Operation) of OPGC Ltd.� on 1st April, 2015. Mohapatra joined AES India as General Manager (Technical) on 24th April 2007 and was on deputation to OPGC since then.
Mohapatra, after completing his engineering degree from NIT (Formerly REC), Rourkela in 1989 joined Nuclear Power Corporation of India as Scientific Officer and served till 1996. He then joined Rolls Royce Industrial Power in Kakinada, AP as Operations Manager. After about 8 years in 2004, he joined General Electric in Mumbai as Service Manager. Spending two years at GE at various capacities, he had a brief stint at SIEMENS in Turkey before joining AES (India) as General Manager (Technical) in 2007.
