Plant five plants, Meditate for 90 Days’: Sri Sri Ravishankar’s Message of Peace in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: Renowned spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankarji, founder of The Art of Living Foundation, visited Jharsuguda on Thursday and addressed a grand Mahasatsang attended by over 10,000 devotees. The event, held at the Man Mohan ME School ground, was marked by soulful bhajans, meditation sessions, and spiritual discourse that filled the atmosphere with devotion and positivity.
Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari and Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy were also present during the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Sri Sri Ravishankarji urged people to adopt the concept of Panchavati—planting five trees. “Even if four or five people come together, they can do it. Every community should ensure that each village has a Panchavati,” he said. He also encouraged everyone to practice meditation for at least 90 days, saying, “As per research, continuous meditation for 90 days brings a positive transformation in the mind and helps prevent diseases like depression and Alzheimer’s.”
Emphasizing the importance of holistic living, he advised people to follow the four pillars of life — Gaan (music), Gyan (knowledge), Dhyan (meditation) and Seva (service) — for inner peace and a better world.
Expressing his joy, Naresh Sakunia, a resident of Jharsuguda, said, “The Mahasatsang was divine. Having Gurudev in person here was a blessing. His presence has filled the land of Jharsuguda with positive energy.”
