School locked down since 2 days, students future remains in dark


Jharsuguda: Indra Gandhi Memorial Girls High School of Purnabasti has been locked down since 2 days by the womens of local self help group. They have blamed that the school is being facing many problems but no steps are taken to solve these problems right from the proper facilities for education, Mid-day meal programme, Distribution of Uniforms to the girls students. They have blamed that there are many irregularities in by the school and a departmental enquiry should be held due to which the all the irregularities would come in public and the person who are involve in this should be punished.
This School was established in the year 1986. The working committee of this school is more likely to be acting like a dummy and is not being functional till date. Presently school has Class 8, 9 total 21 students are currently studying with the help of 6 ladies teacher, 1 clerk and 2 peon.
Local Womens Self Help Group blamed that the school doesnt have proper educational environment, so they have locked the school premises led by Sarojini Patel along with many ladies
Yesterday, this school was being locked down by the Local Self Help Group led by Sarojini Patel along with many other local ladies. They locked down and were demanding action against the headmistress of the school. The school working committee and police administration had reached the spot and had tried to control the situation but no solution came out. Hence, the second day of the school was also being closed.
There demand were
1. Immediate transfer of the current headmistress Mrs. Sushma Nayak.
2. A Departmental Inquiry of all the officials of the school since 2005 to till date.
3. Dissolving the current Working committee of School and forming a new school
Now currently the school is being closed and now the school and students future remains in dark.
