Accident near Marwaripara, One school child dead
Jharsuguda: Today around, 1.15 p.m. a Cement laden truck (OR-15 E 9675) hit a school child who was returning home after her schooling. This accident took place at heart of the town Marwari Para and few metres from Jharsuguda Police Station. She was on her cycle when the truck�s opened hasp got stuck on her cycle and making her fell on the ground. Due to which she received head injury and was dragged for few metres injuring her seriously.
She was immediately taken to the Dist. Hospital where they referred to Burla but she scrummed to his injury on his way. School child is identified as Ritu Prasad, Daughter of Aswini Prasad of Bengali Para of Jharsuguda. She was studying in class tenth in Saraswati Shishu Mandir , Mangal Bazar.
Witnessing the accident, the public who blamed the truck driver of the negligence had thrashed the truck driver and later handed to the police. Additionally, Jharsuguda public had blocked the main road for more than 6 hours in protest of the accident and demanded the following demands.
1. Shifting of Railway Gowdown
2. No entry of Trucks in Day timing as the passenger buses which are not allowed to go inside the Town, Similarly the trucks should also be not allowed in the day timing.
3. Compensation from the deceased school girl of Rs. 5 Lakhs
Jharsuguda Tahsildar, Rajendra Kumar Minz, along with DSP Fagua Singh, Jharsuguda Town OIC Uma Shankar Maharana along with their team rushed the spot and tried to calm the protestors but the crowd was adamant for the demands.
Till the writing of this news, the road block was not lifted rather the body of the school child was kept on the spot demanding the compensation for the deceased.
