Flights for Mumbai and Bangalore to start from 12th January onwards from VSS Airport
Jharsuguda : Veer Surendra Sai (VSS)Airport, Jharsuguda will get connected to most awaited sectors i.e. Mumbai and Bengaluru. The flights for the same will start from 12th January onwards.
Jharsuguda Airport Director Kishore Kumar Senapati said, �Spicejet Airlines will introduce flight for two new sectors i.e., Mumbai and Bengaluru. This flight will operate on 4days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It will operate on a Boeing 737 type of aircraft. The timing for flights will be different on Tuesday will be different other than the other three days. Due to air connectivity, it will boost the economics of this region and would also benefit for all the sectors like Travel Hospitality, Tourism etc.�
On 6th November 2019, Central Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had written a letter to Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep S Puri, requesting him for introducing a direct flight for Mumbai.
Odisha State BJP Secretary Tankadhar Tripathy thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Central Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the introduction, he said, �It is a very good news for entire western Odisha people, on the request of Central Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Flights for Mumbai and Bengaluru sector, which will be beneficial for the business community and also for the students. Additionally, it will boost the economy of this region.�
Introduction of direct flights for Bengaluru, has been cheered by the IT professional and students who hail from Western Odisha.

Presently, Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport, Jharsuguda is having regular flights for Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Raipur, Bhubaneswar sector with two Service Providers Spice jet and Alliance Air.
