Jharsuguda: TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited received the coveted �Greentech Environment Award Silver Trophy�, in the 13th Annual Greentech Environment Award ceremony held at Hydrabad on October 30, 2012. �The award is received by Mr. Jiban Kumar Patnaik, Asst. General Manager (Operations Technology) from Mr. Kamaleshwar Sharan, President, Greentech Foundation and Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, IAS (Retd.), Director General & CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India.
Out of a number of applicants, TRL Krosaki got the award for its significant contribution in the field of maintaining a clean and green environment by adopting eco-friendly technologies. TRL Krosaki has undertaken a number of measures to improve its environmental performance like commissioning of a new State-of-the-Art 50 KL/day capacity Effluent Treatment Plant, Impervious Lagoons, Secured Engineering Landfill, Dust Filter Units, Electro Static Precipitators, Environment Laboratory with high quality equipments, Plantation of 4 lakhs trees over a period of 15 years and distribution of around 50,000 seedlings every year to the nearby villagers. During 2011-12 it has implemented 17 projects for pollution control and energy conservation, which resulted in reduction of carbon footprint by 5% in comparison to the previous year. The company had received the Golden Peacock Commendation Award for Environment Management in 2010-11.
