Jharsuguda : Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC), under its CSR program on environmental sustainability organized a participatory tree plantation program today at Chadarama Village under Telenpali Gram Panchayat in Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district. This event is part of OPGC’s ongoing commitment to fostering green initiatives through its “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive.
OPGC Project Head- PK Patra, EHS Head- Sitaram Sahu, Senior Manager CSR & CC- Himanshu Bhusan Behera, Senior Manager Environment- Partha Sarathi Panda, along with Telenpali Sarpanch- Akash Sahu, OPGC employees from the CSR, Environment & Finance departments, and villagers of Chadarama, all came together to plant trees and contribute to nurturing the environment.
A total of 300 fruit bearing saplings were planted today, marking the first phase of this initiative. Over the course of this program, OPGC plans to plant a total of 2000 trees across Chadarama Village and other villages within Telenpali Gram Panchayat.
To ensure the success of this plantation drive, OPGC has assigned responsibility to a dedicated agency for the proper care and survival of the newly planted trees. This contract ensures that the plants will receive regular monitoring and maintenance, including irrigation, protection from pests, and timely growth support.
